Introduction

This page is designed to provide a useful list of country-level or international gazetteers as well as other geographic resources for verifying place names and/or geopolitical units.

Fuzzy Gazetteer	http://dma.jrc.it/services/fuzzyg/	Find places around the world mainly utilizing GEOnet data by performing fuzzy searching. Useful for place name misspellings.

Geoportal (DGU)	http://geoportal.dgu.hr/viewer/	Find coordinates for places within Croatia in Croatian. First, click on "Pretraga" in the left menu, then select the lower search type "Vrsta prostorne jedinice". The upper box "Vrsta prostorne jedinice" is the location type and the lower box "Ime prostorne jedinice" is the location name.
